Lauren Weil Solomon, J.D., MA
Lauren holds a Juris Doctor degree in law, a Masters of Arts degree in Learning Disabilities and an Illinois Teaching Credential as a Learning/Behavioral Specialist I, mild to moderate, K-12th grade. She has worked with students from age three through graduate and professional school. For the past fifteen years, she has worked in public and private settings at the preschool, elementary, middle school, high school and university levels as a learning specialist, evaluator and tutor, working with students with needs related to executive function, ADHD, learning disabilities and the autism spectrum.
Lauren has been trained in various learning programs, including Lindamood-Bell LiPS and Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Slingerland, as well as Making Math Real. She also applies the latest brain learning research to her work with every student. She specializes in reading, writing, executive function, as well as many content areas. In addition to her work with children and young adults, she spent many years as a criminal defense lawyer working with indigent adults, many of whom had ADHD and learning disabilities.
Lauren is also familiar with the legal requirements of IDEA and ADA, having worked as an advocate within the IEP process at the elementary, middle and high school levels and the disability process at the university level, both as a parent of a child (now in university) and as an advocate for many of her students. Lauren currently works as a Learning Specialist at Stanford University.
Nicola Willits, Palo Alto
Math and Multisensory Instruction
Nicola tutors all levels of math from kindergarten through calculus. In summer, she is available for remediation, review, or a preview of material. During the school year, Nicola teaches pre-algebra through calculus at Mid-Peninsula High School in Menlo Park. Nicola has taken all the Making Math Real classes from Kindergarten through Algebra and including Games. She has also taken AP Seminars at Stanford’s Calculus AB course on preparing students for the AP test. She has a B.S. from Yale.

Specializes in reading tutoring for elementary school-aged children. Thoroughly experienced with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and expressive language difficulties. Uses multi-sensory programs for reading fluency and language comprehension to develop the student's skills. All work is done in the comfort of the student's home or at a local school/library.
Patrice McElligott, MA, ET
Patrice holds a Masters in Special Education along with Clear Multiple Subject and Special Education Credentials. She is an ADHD and Executive Functioning Parent Coach and is currently working on becoming a Board Certified Educational Therapist. Over the last 20 years, she has worked in both public and private school settings as a teacher and tutor for students in grades 2 through 8. She is highly skilled in reading strategies including LiPS and Visualization and Verbalization, as well as a variety of writing strategies. Her teaching experiences in diverse schools, along with the fact that her three children have learning differences, gives her a unique perspective on educating students with learning differences from the point of view of an educational therapist, teacher, and parent. Patrice has extensive knowledge of the IEP process, and she truly believes that every student can learn when provided the appropriate strategies and accommodations. Darlene DeMaria is a Board Certified Educational Therapist who uses the language of art to raise the academic self concept and social-emotional learning of children who learn differently. Through various forms of creative expression she fosters resiliency, receptive and expressive language, positive self image, and creative problem solving. Specialized approaches to writing, reading, math, and study skills are infused in these techniques developing self-empowerment and self-advocacy along the way. She also has Neuro-Linguistic Certification ~ Levels I & II. Her teaching career has included regular and special education instruction in elementary & junior college levels. She has served as a school-based Resource Specialist and Reading Specialist; as well as a Diagnostician at California Pacific Medical Center.
